Jayesh Shah

Dr. Jayesh Shah is a preeminent, world class homeopath, who has a rare gift for imparting his brilliant and artful prescribing to students all over the globe.  He and his wife, Dr. Rajul, run a busy clinic in Mumbai (Bombay, India).  Jayesh’s interest in homeopathy began as a child, long before he graduated from the Bombay Homeopathic Medical College in 1980.  

His father was a well known homeopath practicing in Mumbai for over 40 years. Dr. Jayesh along with Dr. Rajan Sankaran have pioneered what is known as the “Bombay School” of Classical Homeopathy. He has been the main organizer of a number of international seminars in Mumbai. During the past 20 years Dr. Jayesh has had the rich experience of an extremely vibrant clinical practice. Additionally he has gained a world wide reputation as a teacher par excellence, having conducted a significant number of seminars and courses all over India, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the U.S. Dr. Jayesh has also been involved in the important work of conducting provings. Among the provings he has done are Rattus Rattus, Lotus, Tantallum, Rubidium, Cadmium sulphuricum, Cadmium Metalicum, Indian Red Pond Lily and Nuphar Luteum.

One particular area on which Jayesh has placed particular emphasis is learning from failures. More than twenty years ago, when he and Rajan Sankaran began collaborating, their inspiration came from the realization that there is a potential treasure trove of knowledge available to the practitioner who is willing to delve into failed cases. In the spirit of continuing this important work Jayesh continues to be keen upon treating a limited number of “live” patients throughout the different courses.  Patients have been selected who are still seriously seeking curative treatment through homeopathy, despite having not yet been helped.

These patients are being followed throughout the entirety of the courses in San Diego and Brattleboro as was done in the past series in Berkeley, Boston and New York City.  These “live” cases prove to be a terrific catalyst for the courses’ participants in working and developing as a group alongside Jayesh. Each of the patients is seen at each session throughout the courses’ entirety. In spite of the degree of difficulty of these cases, yet due to an attitude of relentless diligence exemplified at all times by Jayesh, the vast majority of these patients got enormous, often life-changing results.

Similarly, the “model cases” Jayesh brings from his practice to share with us are most often cases where he had struggled mightily before finally succeeding. He refers to those as his “landmark cases.” He emphasized that these are the most meaningful cases in a homeopath's career, for they clearly and compellingly illustrate one or more of the crucial aspects of homeopathic practice. Taking us into the innermost reaches of his thought process and experience, Jayesh generously and freely shares how to grapple with the challenges and difficulties of everyday practice. Once again he is eager for the chance to share his knowledge and grow alongside fellow homeopaths. In the spirit of homeopathy he warmly extends an invitation to his American colleagues to join with him in San Diego and Vermont for the remaining sessions in what has already proven to be another inspiring and growth-filled series of workshops.

Jayesh is also the hardest working teacher I've ever studied with.  On several occasions after taking a live case in class, Jayesh has stayed up, what must have been half the night, analyzing the case and preparing overhead slides and hand outs for his students for the next day so they could understand the case from his point of view while it was still fresh.
